Law Firm Wins a Major Case!
  1. Protect your Identity: Don’t share your vital records such as Iranian birth certificate (shenasnameh) and Iranian passport (gozarnameh) with others so innocently. Just as you would protect your American passport or social security card, these Iranian equivalents should be protected as well.
  2. Protect your documents: Don’t share deeds (sanad), sales contracts (bonchagh), and other real estate information with others. Think of them as a keys to a treasure box.  Don’t leave those keys with everyone you once knew when you were a kid.
  3. Be pro-active with what your parents have left you. Your parental inheritance are their lifelong earnings. Respect it and remember how hard your loved ones have worked for it. Talk with an expert before losing it to a blind trust.
  4. Obtain information from various sources on issues such as the exact location of your inherited real estate in Iran, specifications of the land, zoning issues, and current price range in toumans not in U.S. dollar. Call me to tell you why.
  5. Independently investigate and verify, then trust. It is very common among Iranians to trust and do business with a hand shake, not knowing the outcomes of such blind trust. Not everyone has your best interest in mind. Only Legal Persian does. Ask our clients.
  6. Do NOT sign a comprehensive PoA (vekalatnameh jame) to anyone at once and at the beginning of a probate process. Break down the work in pieces and ensure your Agents are accountable for their actions.
  7.  Have contractual agreement with individuals you hire. The more access you have to your Agent in terms of your jurisdiction, the better you can control their actions. Legal Persian works and operates in the U.S. and obeys and practices under its laws. We will be paid by our clients in the U.S. and legally cannot collect any fees in Iran.  This helps us to be accountable to you here; whereas, your relative in Iran may not be.
  8. Inflation is real! Check the price of your inherited assets very frequently.  Especially given Iran’s volatile economic environment, prices can and often do change daily with immense differences.
  9.  Act calm and collected, yet fast and decisive. A lack of action is not an answer to your suspicions. Abandoning your issues in Iran will not solve them. Ask a professional for the most feasible method of collecting and liquidating your assets.
  10. And lastly sign a contract with Legal Persian to locate, collect, and liquidate all of your Iranian inherited real estate and save yourself unnecessary legal troubles and potential losses. We are on your side! Always!
